Glendora Bookshop
Used Book
Policy

Since we are a small operation (with limited space) we would like to provide some guidelines for those looking to bring in used books to the shop. The main thing to know is that ours is an exchange, not a buy-back, program. That means, if your books are accepted as store inventory, you will receive store credit toward the purchase of new or used books. See details below.

We appreciate your patience as we’ve worked to develop this policy. Hope to see you at the store soon!

  • Glendora Bookshop will receive book donations on the 1st Saturday of every month. Please plan accordingly, as we will be unable, at least for the time being, to evaluate your offering outside of our once-a-month window.

  • We can accept, at most, up to one box or grocery bag per visit.

  • Books must be in very good, like-new condition.* They must also be a good “fit” for our store, and we will also consider the number of copies the number of copies of the title already in our inventory.

  • We will be in contact about your available store credit within a week of drop-off. For those books we are unable to accept we’ll ask that you pick them up promptly. We can direct to a nearby donation depot, if interested.

  • For the books we are able to accept, we will offer a $1.00 credit for children’s books/$2.00 for adult fiction or non-fiction. Should you choose to participate, you will automatically be signed up for our loyalty program so we can add the credit(s) to your account for future purchases.

Thank you for your generosity and support!

* We are unable to accept damaged books of any kind (including but not limited to water damage, sun damage, torn jackets or covers, overly worked spines, annotations, stains, mildew or mold, animal hair, heavy smoke damage, and heavy wear & tear).
